Our Doctors and Team

The people you see, and how long they have been here

Updated October 8, 2026

Two doctors, a front desk that knows your name before you reach the counter, and a hygiene team that has been here for years. This is everyone.

The practice opened on Lake Sahara Drive in 1968 and is still run by the same family, in the same building. Most of the people below have been here long enough to remember your last crown.

The Doctors

Dr. Douglas Sandquist

Douglas Sandquist, DDS

Owner. Practicing in Las Vegas since 1998. Visiting Faculty at Spear Education.

Focuses on treating the whole mouth, not just the tooth that hurts: crowns, veneers, full mouth rehabilitation, TMJ and jaw pain. Read more about Dr. Sandquist.

Dr. Jeannie Lee-Mirzayan

Jeannie Lee-Mirzayan, DDS

Invisalign provider and certified myofunctional therapist.

Works on tongue posture, mouth breathing and tongue-ties alongside straightening teeth, because the two belong in the same conversation. Read more about Dr. Lee-Mirzayan.

Front Desk

The first voice you hear and the person who sorts out your insurance claim afterward. How insurance works here.

Gema

Gema

Front Desk. Fourteen years with the practice.

If you have called this office, you have talked to Gema, and if you have walked in, she greeted you before you reached the counter.

Hygiene

The people you will actually see most often. A hygiene visit here runs a full hour, and the schedule is set by what your gums need rather than by the calendar. What a cleaning actually does.

Cathy

Cathy

Registered Dental Hygienist. Thirty-three years with the practice.

Thirty-three years in one building, and she still loves her hygiene patients. Some of them she has been seeing since before their children were born.

Helene

Helene

Registered Dental Hygienist. Four years with the practice.

Helene came to us from Northern California. Her mother is a dentist, so she has been around this work a great deal longer than she has been doing it.

Treatment Coordinators

Other offices would call them assistants. We call them treatment coordinators, because the job is as much explaining what is happening and why as it is handing over an instrument.

Selena

Selena

Treatment Coordinator. Fifteen years with the practice.

Selena arrived from the Big Island of Hawaii and went straight to work assisting Dr. Dave, the Dr. David B. Sandquist who opened this practice in 1968 and Dr. Sandquist’s father. Fifteen years later she is still here.

Kasandra

Kasandra

Treatment Coordinator. Six years with the practice.

Kasandra was working in the Las Vegas service industry, decided she wanted something different, and put herself through a dental assisting program. She walked in the door asking for observation hours, and her personality got her a job instead.

Sterilization

Every instrument that touches you has been through this room, and every operatory is torn down and reset before the next patient sits down.

Evander

Evander

Sterilization. Six years with the practice.

Runs our sterilization center, keeps every instrument in the building in tip-top shape, and helps tear down and reset the rooms between patients so the day keeps moving. It is the part of a dental office patients never see and would care about most if they did.

Why the same faces matter

Add up the time the people on this page have spent in this building and it comes to more than seventy-five years. Dentistry is easier when the person cleaning your teeth remembers what your gums looked like two years ago, and when the dentist placed the crown he is now checking. That continuity is the reason we can show you cases photographed twenty years apart, and it is not something a practice can buy or rebuild quickly.

Everyone here is an employee of this practice. We do not use temporary or rotating staff, and the doctor who plans your treatment is the doctor who does it.
